Legal basis

We process data under the Constitution of Georgia and the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection, based on your consent, your application or request, account operation, and legitimate interests such as security, moderation, and abuse prevention.

What we collect

- Applications (rescuer/foster): contact details, location, housing and household information, experience, availability, confirmations and consent, IP address, and timestamps. - Accounts: email, name, phone if provided, user ID, role, and login and security data. - Pet listings: animal details, photos, location, and rescuer contact details. - Contact forms and chat: your name, email, and message. Chat messages are sent to an AI provider to generate replies, so please do not share sensitive or private details there. - Security logs: IP address, browser and visit data, error reports, and rate-limit records. - Uploads: photos stored in Google Cloud, and pet videos uploaded to the official Adopt.ge YouTube channel with related metadata. - Promotion funds: payment references, amounts, ad-spend records, and receipts.

We never ask for card details, passwords, or banking credentials. Donations are processed by Donorbox or the relevant provider.

How we use data

To review applications, run accounts, publish and moderate listings and videos, track promotion funds, respond to messages, notify our team, prevent spam and abuse, keep the site secure, improve it, and meet legal obligations.

Who receives data

Service providers that help run the site: Google (Firebase, Cloud, Maps, reCAPTCHA, AI, YouTube, and Analytics if you consent), email and Telegram services, Donorbox, PayPal or banks if you pay that way, and Meta Pixel if you consent. Some may process data outside Georgia under their own safeguards.

Retention

We keep data only as long as needed: applications while under review or disputed, accounts, listings, and payment records while active plus a reasonable period for audit and security, and videos while useful for the animal's welfare. Visitor IP records are kept for 90 days, and security logs only as long as needed.

Your rights

You may request access, a copy, correction, blocking, or deletion of your data, stop processing, and withdraw consent. You may complain to the State Audit Office of Georgia or a court. Some requests may be limited where the law allows (for example for security, legal claims, or protecting others), and withdrawing consent does not affect earlier processing.

Google and YouTube

We use YouTube API Services to upload, host, embed, and delete pet videos. See the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms). You can revoke Adopt.ge's access to your Google account at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.

Children and sensitive data

Adopt.ge is not meant for collecting children's data or sensitive data. Please share it only when a form clearly asks for it and it is necessary.
