Finding forever homes

Wirehaired pointer mix
Meet Joy and yes, the name fits perfectly. Joy is a 6-year-old bundle of happiness who has already overcome more than most dogs ever should. She bravely battled a transmissible venereal tumor for nearly two years and is now proudly cancer-free and ready for her forever home. She carries a little extra wiggle in her back end and has absolutely no shame about her love for snacks; however, these days she’s trading bread and pastries for quality food, with apples, persimmons, and bananas as treats. She would love a family who will continue helping her stay on a healthy path. Despite her curves and slightly crooked legs, she can still surprise you with a burst of speed: like a small, black, fluffy hippo in action. Belly rubs are her favorite thing in the world (closely followed by sofa time). Joy believes in full household supervision: bathroom trips, kitchen visits, and general floor cleanliness, she takes her duties seriously. She is wonderfully social and gets along with everyone, dogs and cats alike. If a cat takes her chair, she’ll politely wait her turn. Joy is pure love, resilience, and gentle sweetness wrapped into one very huggable package. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a joyful spirit and a big heart, she’s ready to meet you.
